I, Dr Thomas Sheehan, confirm herein that as of 1 January 2021, I have been a Registered Medical Practitioner for 47 years.
Regarding my present practice, it was 34 years ago when I established my Medicolegal Orthopaedic/Musculoskeletal Medicine, Occupational Health & Safety/Rehabilitation Medicine Consultancy in Sydney.
Since then my practice has expanded Australia-wide and internationally.
I have provided tens of thousands of Medical Reports and Perm Impairment Assessments related to Workers Compensation, Third Party/Motor Vehicle Accidents, Public/Civil Liability, Medical Negligence, Total and Permanent Disablement and Victims' Compensation matters.
Specifically regarding the provision of evidence in Court, I have been accepted as a Qualified Witness in the Supreme and District Courts of Australia and the former Workers’ Compensation Courts of NSW since the late 1980s.
As a result I have provided tens of thousands of assessments for multiple Insurers and Legal firms, both in relation to Defendants and Applicants and in the past worked for GIO Insurance's Special Claims Unit in association with the NSW Police Force's Fraud Squad.
Whilst doing so, I have always dealt honestly and fairly with the facts of the matters and issues involved with a view to assisting towards fair and reasonable resolutions.
Evidence to support that statement lies in the multiple references which have been provided for me by Barristers and Solicitors who specialise in Personal Injury Law.
My Curriculum Vitae below comprehensively details my qualifications, training and experience.
In summary, for 34 years now I have been providing Medicolegal Opinions for Insurers and Legal Firms, which have always been well received and frequently legally relied upon.
I have maintained a high level of professional development as required by AHPRA.
I am a SIRA Authorised Health Practitioner (NSW) and a GEPI trained WorkCover Queensland Assessor.
Finally, an extensive list of legally qualified referees and a copy of a list of my publications can be made available upon request..
